Thanksgiving Visit
Hi All…..just got back from montana from my first off grounds visit with Nick and thought I would let you all know how things were at SCL. First of all….my visit was great…spent most of the time in Missoula shopping, movies, dinners, hanging out with my kids for the first time in 10 months…..I have to say that I am quite pleased with my decision to send Nick to SCL. He is the same boy for sure, but he is full of pride, very grateful and actually had no complaints about the program. What I noticed most was how he actually takes good care of himself and his belongings. He is also very insightful and fairly calm. He did have trouble sitting idle for very long…I think they are kept very busy and there is not much down time for them.
On Friday they had their talent show and we stuck around town so Nick could go back and sing with the band. All the kids were great, they were happy, enthusiastic, and excited about being there. Olivia and I thoroughly enjoyed all their talents including Ms. Kristie…who has quite a voice and Justin who proved he is quite the guitar player for sure!!!! Thank you to everyone who helped put it on. Afterwards the kids were full of hugs and smiles. It is clear that they miss all of you and I was happy to offer up hugs and give them all pats on the back. It is obvious, with all the new graduates that the numbers are down, but the staff and kids all seemed happy and according to Nick motivation and spirits are high.
